I thought it would be fun to have a contest, to thank all of the amazing clients I got to work with in 2010! I chose images from every session that I did in 2010, and have uploaded them into an album on my new J. Nichole Photography facebook page. Here are the rules for the contest...they are simple. :o)
-whichever photo has the most "likes" by Thursday (2-10-11) evening...wins!

In order to "like" the images, you must "like" J. Nichole Photography and then vote to your heart's content! You will want to spread the word to your friends and family...networking is important!

Oh, wait...I forgot to tell you what the prize is! The client whose image wins, will receive a 16x20 float wrap, ready to hang on your walls! This is a $235 value! You want to win this! I will also have prizes for 2nd and 3rd place winners.

Family and Senior Pictures: Liberty Senior Photographer

Last night I met up with the H family to get some family pictures, and some senior pictures for their son, Ben. Let me start this blog by saying that this is a TALL family. Ben is around 6' 4". My short-stack self had to be on my tippy-toes all evening! :o) This is my favorite picture of Ben, so far. He has such a nice smile! And he was a real trooper, considering the above shot was basically taken in a run-down, creepy area. :o)

I think I was about a mile away from him, to get his entire body in the frame of my camera!

And, the beautiful family. I absolutely love this shot, how the trees and barn are framing them, how they are holding on to each other...perfection.

Fun family session: Kansas City Family Photographer

I met up with the Heiman family this evening so they could get some updated family portraits. Here is Matthew, the oldest boy.

This is Carlene. Carlene and I taught 1st grade together. She is also my "momma mentor" because she also is in a house full of men. So, no matter what I encounter, she has been there, done that. I love this picture of her, looking at her boy. :o)

Tonight I met up with the Ackart family to get some pics of their two little girls, Hadley and Kadence. They are super cute! Hadley is in love with all things "fancy," so she was the perfect fancy little gal to wear the super poofy pettiskirt.

And here is sweet Kady (Kady-Bug) wearing the slightly smaller petti. Kady just turned 1! Cute!

I had to include this one...I have about 20 total frames of similar poses from Hadley, lol!

She looks so darn sweet here! Kady is such a cute little peanut!

The fountain water provided a little entertainment for Hadley. :o)

Chris miraculously had the day off today, so while Owen was napping, I decided to take advantage of having daddy home, and take some pictures of Wade! It is impossible to take photos of him while big bro is awake! So, here is my big brown-eyed boy, giving a typical Wadey look. LOVE this little man!

Tonight I met up with my friend Ashley, her husband Jason, and their little man, Cooper. Cooper just turned 6 months old, and even cut his first tooth today! Here is Cooper with his sweet momma. (He loooooves his mommy, oh boy. Almost the entire session he was reaching for mommy, or chewing on his hands, haha)

Ashley saw a patch of tall grass, and Cooper was happy to sit in it for us...for a bit!

I love this one. He is precious!

He is so happy here, because he is standing on his mom! Did I mention that Ashely has a mommy's boy on her hands? As the mom of 2 mommy's boys...I must say that it is a wonderful thing!

Tonight I met up with the Johnson family to do their family pics! I loooove this family. First of all, I taught 1st grade with Megan until I decided to be a stay-at-home mom for a while. Megan is so dang sweet, and is now one of my dear friends. I miss seeing her everyday at work!!! The next thing I love about this family (besides Megan) would be how cute they are! Here is Kinley and her daddy. She is perhaps the most expressive baby I have ever met! :o)

Here is the whole family...Eric (daddy), Kinley (baby girl), Gavin (big boy) and Megan (momma). See, I told you there are super cute.

My cousin Heather and her husband, Hank just welcomed their first little boy, Colton! He is super cute and we the PERFECT newborn model. Most newborn sessions can last anywhere from 1-4 hours (seriously!) and we knocked out his entire session in less than an hour! And that hour included Colton's wild cousin Owen trying to steal the show a few (million) times. Luckily my aunt and my other cousin were there to wrangle him! Here is a sweet pic of Colton's feet. If you look closely at his heel, you can see all of the little sticks from when he was in the NICU for jaundice after he was born. :o(

And Colton in his train hat! Colton's daddy works for the railroad, so this hat was perfect for his newborn pics! Thanks so much, Heather, for being patient with me getting a preview posted! Backstory: Owen, my dear, dear son was playing with the battery to the laptop, and it wound up MIA for 4 days. Luckily after a serious hunt this evening, we found it! Congrats again, Heather and Hank! Colton is just perfect, and I am so excited about our boys growing up together....just like Heather and I did! :o) I will finish working on these next weekend!

Our dear friends Beckie and Sam welcomed their 2nd daughter, Brooklynn 12 days ago. Owen and I went over to their house this morning to do her newborn session. Luckily Brooklynn's big sister is Izzy...also known as Owen's BFF. So Owen and Izzy played (and Beckie's mom, bless her heart, corralled the 2 toddlers!) while I took her pics. She is such a precious little girl, but we expected nothing less. :o) I hope you like your quick preview, Beckie and Sam! Many more to come!

Today, I had the pleasure of meeting this little (well, not so little!) man for his newborn pictures. His parents are two of the calmest new parents I have ever seen! And to top it off, they are two of the nicest people I have met. :o) Kim and Tony (aka- Mommy and Daddy) won a gift certificate for a free session with me at a benefit for one of my son's little buddies from daycare who has Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. You can read about that little guy Kellen's story here...www.teamkellen.org.

Anyways! I had a wonderful afternoon photographing this handsome little guy. He definitely had some funny little "Zoolander" moments during his session. I just have time for a quick one tonight...here he is in a hat that his very excited grandma made especially for him. Enjoy guys! I hope to have a few more up tomorrow. :o)

Fall Family Session: Kansas City Children and Family Photographer

Yesterday, I went out with the W family to take their fall family pics. (Mr. W is my principal, so I was a lil nervous!!) We had great weather, wonderful lighting...and the cutest.family.EVER. The above picture melts my heart.

Brooke is 3 months old!

Today I went over to the B house and took pics of Miss Brooke and her big bro Brody! I can't believe how much she has changed since I did her newborn photos just 3 short months ago! Crazy! As always, the B family was very gracious and sweet, and I enjoyed my visit this morning. Look at how cute Brody is! Here is a lil fact....he just started preschool this year. :o)

And here is the star of the day, Brooke! According to her parents, she is much different from Brody. She isn't a big smiler, where as her big brother would smile at just about everything! We definitely got some sweet shots of her today. But, it wasn't too hard considering how cute she is! :o) I hope you enjoy your preview! Thanks for having me over this morning!

Tonight I met up with the D family to do their family pics, and their daughter Izabella's 2 year old pictures! Here is a bit of trivia...Izzy's mom has been one of my best friends for, wait for it, 15 years!!! Wow, that is hard to type! I am old! :o)

This girl is so cute. I loved her lil purple dress! She was very concerned about where Owen was, because her mom and dad told her that he would be there, and he wasn't! Oops!

She is a crack up. Don't you love the headband? We bribed her with many gummy fruits, and M&M's in order for her to keep it on! It was great to see you all tonight! I will keep working on these!

Holiday Mini-Session Announcement!

It is hard to believe that the Holiday season will be upon us in a little over 3 months. Where has the summer gone?! With that said, I wanted to post some information about two Mini-Session days that I am planning since I have had quite a few emails asking about holiday portraits! :o)

Here is how this is going to work. On September 16th, I will have 3 sessions available for families. (6:30-7:00, 7:00-7:30, 7:30-8:00) I will have the same time slots available on Saturday, October 3rd.

The fee will be $200, and will include the following:
-30 minute portrait session for your immediate family
-an online gallery of 10 portraits presented in both color and black/white, available to view for 7 days
-Your choice of 50 5x7 double-sided, custom designed Holiday greeting cards (with images from your session) press-printed on linen paper (these cards are amazing...not your average photo-card, that is for sure!) OR a $125 print credit for you to use to purchase prints from your session.
-You will also get 10% off any additional a la carte prints that you purchase from your session.

Tonight I met up with Macy and Jackson to take their 3-year old portraits. And, man, they made me work for each.and.every shot! :o) These two kiddos are definitely quicker than I am! This picture of Jackson is so sweet...what a cutie!

Tonight I met up with Morgan and her mom Tracee to take Morgan's senior pictures. We had so much fun. Morgan was a wonderful model and kept us laughing throughout the session. Let's just say I have about 20 images of her sticking her tongue out, lol. I must say that she has a very beautiful pair of eyes...don't you agree? :)

Miss Morgan even braved laying next to some ants to get this shot.

And we convinced her to lay in the grass even though she probably will wind up with some chigger bites. Sorry, Morgan!!

Isabella

Tonight we met up with Isabella and her mom Beckie for Izzy's 16 month portraits. Lucky for us, we are close with Izzy's family so we had a blast! We went to Loose Park, and got lucky with some wonderful lighting!

Izzy's big brown eyes are so gorgeous. I know that she is going to be quite the heart-breaker when she grows up! She is already after my son, so I have to be on my toes! :o)

This picture is my favorite. It is *so* Izzy. Girly, cutesy and sweet! She wasn't loving the tu-tu, so we had to make running across the bridge a game so that she would keep it on. And, some treats may have been handed out, but eh, whatever it takes! We had a wonderful time tonight, and Beckie and Sam, I can't wait to show you the rest!

Today I had the chance to go photograph 13 day old Brooke, and the rest of her gorgeous family. Her mommy looks *amazing*! I love the above shot, with Brooke peeking over Mom's shoulder. Brooke is a very strong-willed baby! She did not feel like being our model today, lol. That's okay, Brooke! You are so adorable I was able to get some super sweet shots.

Love the texture in this one. This is my new blanket and wrap. She liked to be swaddled.....didn't like being naked so much! :o)

Brooke's mommy is a hair-stylist, and she had an entire basket full of bows for the baby! Don't you love that pearl necklace?

Here is a shot of Brooke's brother, Brody and dad. Brody is such a crack-up! I learned that he likes suckers, and Yo-GabaGaba.

Brody! He even treated us to a special "Get Your Sillies Out" dance toward the end of the session. What a cutie. This picture puts a smile on my face! It was so nice to meet you, B family! You guys are so photogenic! Thanks for having me over today. :o)

Today I had a session with Miss Sofie. She is 8 days old, and just beautiful!! It took her a while to relax and close those eyes, but it was worth the wait! The 3 Amigos: Kansas CIty Children's Photographer

This evening we went out with the Joel & Kristen and Beckie & Sam (and all of our kiddos!) to celebrate Sam's 28th birthday. We went to Los Compas on the square, and so we had a little "mini session" on the square with the kids! Hudson's smile is so contagious, isn't it?

He is getting so big!

I love this outfit. He wore it to Owen's first birthday party!

This fee includes a phone or email consultation prior to your session in which we will discuss the details of your shoot.
